Stakeholders across Lagos State have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, reaffirming their support for his administration and leadership direction.
The endorsement was made on Tuesday during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State 2025 Stakeholders’ Forum, which brought together top political figures, traditional rulers, and representatives of various social and economic groups from across the state.
The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gawat, announced the endorsement in a statement shared on his official X handle, accompanied by a video from the event.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were former Lagos governors Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, who represented other federal ministers. Members of the State Executive Council, State Party Executive, and the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) also participated in the forum.
Other attendees included Lagos lawmakers from the National and State Assemblies, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, market leaders, and youth representatives led by Dayo Israel.
In a video clip shared by Gawat, the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement was moved by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, and seconded by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
Oba Shotobi declared:
“On behalf of traditional rulers in Lagos State, I, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabiru Shotobi, hereby endorse President Tinubu to go for a second term.”
Speaker Obasa added:
“On behalf of my colleagues from Lagos State and the people of Lagos State, I so second.”
The endorsement reflects continued political unity within Lagos APC circles and reinforces the state’s backing of President Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
