Ibadan, the cultural capital of Yorubaland, is preparing for a historic moment — the coronation of Senator Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The eight-day programme, obtained by our correspondent, blends religion, culture, scholarship, and tradition, showcasing the depth of Ibadan’s heritage. Events will run from Monday, September 22, to Saturday, October 4, 2025.
The announcement follows Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval of Ladoja’s nomination. The coronation has been fixed for Friday, September 26, 2025, a day after Ladoja’s 81st birthday. He succeeds Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7.
